For this project, I was tasked to create a knitwear collection based on an ugly/uncomfortable subject. I designed a spring ready-to-wear collection based on my experiences with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
I chose to make this dress for my presentation. This dress represents the bruising, stretchy joints, and see-through skin that I experience as symptoms of Ehlers-Danlos. Each strand holding the garment together was single chain hand crocheted. The fabric itself was ice-dyed to create the bruised look.
